The original 31 year old window in the upper story loft bedroom, was beginning to show signs of extreme wear and I was worried that without a complete overhaul, it would begin to leak in the rainy season. This window is trapezoidal in shape. Not an easy shape to work with.

Kevin removed the old window and infrastructure. I wanted to save the original outer frame and the glass it contained, so I could repaint it and save on materials and labor. There was some sentimental value in that piece of the window, as well.

Kevin made a beautiful and sturdy framework for the “cap” to set back over, and sealed the entire window thoroughly against weather. He also added an “eyelash” made of aluminum which is anchored under the shingles just above the window , and extends out and down over the top edge of the window frame. The rain runs off the ends of the eyelash and drains onto the shingles out from and below the top of the window. This was the perfect result I was looking for.
